K.A.Y. Unit Conference Information
Unit Conference Wednesday, February 10, 2010 (Red day) at KC Turner High School
Conference times 8:00a.m.-11:30a.m.
We will stop for lunch at a fast food restaurant. This will be at your own expense. You may bring a sack lunch if you wish.
Leave school at 7:00a.m., return to school by 3:00p.m.
Attire – Ladies: Dresses, skirts (of appropriate length) or nice slacks. Please dress
modestly on the top half. Gentlemen: slacks and a collared shirt.
Club presidents will meet at 8:35 with the State Director (Cheryl). In
addition, they will be seated on stage for the opening General Session to
share information specific to our club.
There will be activities that:
* Focus on the many opportunities K.A.Y. members have to make a difference.
* Are designed to be interesting, informative and provide ideas for club programs.
* Involve all delegates and sponsors working together on a service project. This year it will be building birdhouses for Kansas Parks and wooden games for Ronald McDonald House. Please bring hammer and screwdrivers (standard & Phillips).
We are having a T-shirt design contest for K.A.Y. members. Come up with a design the incorporates what it means to be in K.A.Y. A good place to star would be our "What is K.A.Y" page on this website or look at the pledge, privileges, motto, slogan or objective of K.A.Y found on your bookmarker or on the state website http://www.kshsaa.org/KAY/KAYDeclaration.html. Your design must be drawn with black on white paper (T shirt colors can vary). Get them to Mrs. Trull or Mr. Burchett by the end of October. You will win school wide recognition of your design and a free T-shirt.
